In 2013, after the publication of the Little Village Quality of Life Plan, Enlace began working with neighborhood schools on green and recreational space development. Leadership committees, made up of parents and other stakeholders, were formed at five neighborhood schools. Leadership committees worked with pro-bono artictects to reimagine the school campus, and then created projects aligned with those larger 'school campus plans'.
Since its inception, one major project has been completed at each school. Built earlier this school year, the latest project was made possible through a generous Sport Court donation to Francisco I. Madero Middle School. The project, pictured above, turned an under-utilized courtyard into an outdoor recess space, equipped for basketball, soft-court tennis, and volleyball.
